The Kitchenforest by Upgreens is the indoor herb garden for your kitchen, made in Germany. Three pots, for up to six herbs, sit in a shallow base tray with an integrated water tank. Two rods carry the artificial sun, which delivers as much energy as a south-facing window in summer: constantly, every day, in every season. With the Kitchenforest, anyone can always have fresh herbs, even without a green thumb.

The Kitchenforest is 14.5 cm narrow, 49 cm long and 48 cm tall, so it fits on any windowsill and any kitchen counter. It is powered via USB-C, and the cable and power adapter are included.

The starter set always includes: Upgreens growing substrate, a seed kit with 3x basil and 3x parsley, and pre-portioned nutrient fertilizer for 6 months. You can expect your first harvest after 5 weeks.

The Kitchenforest is available in Pfeffer (black), Salz (white), Sesam (beige) and Safran (orange), or can be configured individually to match the color, material and surface of your own kitchen.

Fill the pots with Upgreens growing substrate and spread one seed packet on each.

Top up the water. Add the nutrient fertilizer.

Depending on how mature the plants are, the tank usually lasts 8 to 9 days. The nutrient fertilizer comes perfectly pre-portioned.

Light on. Let it grow.

The artificial sun gives the plants the energy to grow steadily. The first harvest is usually ready after about five weeks. Below 20 °C and above 26 °C, growth slows down.

No. The LED light bar, aka the artificial sun, takes care of that completely. With the Kitchenforest, herbs grow anywhere, even in kitchens without windows.

No. The Kitchenforest is all about simplicity. Plant, add water, plug in, light on, it grows.

Basilico Genovese and parsley are included to get you started. Beyond that, any herb that grows in soil works: mint, coriander, thyme, oregano, dill. The range of Upgreens seed kits keeps growing, and Upgreens seeds are always GMO-free.

Depending on the herbs and their age, the water tank holds a good week's worth of water, and the substrate holds plenty of moisture too.
