The Upgreens basil seed kit contains three packets of GMO-free basil seeds, to be precise: Basilico Genovese, the original from Ligurian cuisine. The basil seed kit provides enough seeds for all 3 pots. Basilico Genovese is the foundation of real pesto alla Genovese and the most aromatic basil in Mediterranean cooking. The seeds are sprinkled onto the Upgreens growing substrate and germinate within just a few days under the artificial sun, aka the LED light bar, of the Kitchenforest. You can expect the first harvest after about five weeks. Regular picking encourages bushy growth, so a Kitchenforest supplies fresh basil for months: for pesto, caprese, pasta, cocktails or straight from the plant.
